What’s the best way to keep your hair healthy and shiny?

We can all agree your hair is an important part of your appearance. All of us would love to have beautiful, silky, shiny hair. So share with us any tips or beauty secrets to have that healthy shiny hair.Eat well and stay healthy. That is the first thing that you need to do, because if you're missing important vitamins or nutrients it will show up in your hair as fragile strands, excessive damage or dryness.

Try to be as gentle as possible with your hair. Minimize heat styling like straightening and blowdrying and if you must do it then use heat protection products to preventexcessive damage. Also find a good shampoo and conditioner. Shampooing daily isn't always necessary and can dry out your hair too much. For a lot of people every other day is fine and will keep their hair healthier and softer. For conditioner- some people do better with moisturizing conditioners and some with protein/strength building type conditioners. Try out both and see what works best for your hair.
Deep condition every week or two. Some of the home remedy type treatments can work pretty well- avocados, mayonnaise, coconut oil, etc. If you're on a tight budget then google a little and try out some 'recipes'. 

Also please please please get a trim! I see so many people on YA who ask for advice on how to get pretty hair or longer hair but refuse to cut or even trim it because they don't want to lose any length. Trust me people if the ends are damaged, your hair probably isn't going to get long like it's supposed to and even if it does it won't look good. Just cut it off and start fresh, your hair will thank you:D

Wash your hair only 2-3 times per week and use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner combo or a color care formula. When you condition, leave conditioner on 2-3 minutes before rinsing. Washing hair everyday strips it of essential moisture that helps keep it shiny and soft. After your wash, spray with a leave in conditioner and / or color protectant.



Deep condition once a week. This is essential to youthful, healthy vibrant hair. Use a deep conditioning treatment suited to your hairtype and any chemical processes you may have had. The best way to deep condition it is to envelop your hair with the deep conditioner. Wet a hand towel and place it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to get it too hot and burn yourself. Wrap towel securely around your head and leave treatment in for as long as you can. Usually 15-30 minutes should be good. Wash and follow with your leave in conditioner and / or color protectant spray.


Get regular trims. Hair that is split can continue to separate up the hair shaft and cause a dull and frizzy appearance. Regular trims can help alleviate this and contribute to the overall vibrancy of your beautiful

Apply oil every night in order to make your hair look good

Mehendi can also be a good option for you to keep your hair glowing and healthy
Do not leave your hair untidy. Always tie your hair after washing them

Steam your hair up! Steaming can be a very good option
Massage your hair with honey and garlic paste. This can help your hair become silky and glowing.
